At Inspira Explor home based Learning Center, we welcome a small multi-age group of children. The multi-age group promotes independence, helping children cultivate effective learning habits. Our mission is to inspire children to explore our beautiful world. We strive to empower families seeking a flexible, nurturing, bilingual, supportive environment where children ages 3-6 and 6-9 cultivate self-awareness, self-confidence, independence, and a lifelong love for exploration and learning. We offer a lighter, more flexible schedule that reduces stress and fosters genuine engagement. We serve families seeking a small community learning setting.
This is a drop-off program.
Following the child
Emphasizes respecting each child's unique pace, interests and development, fostering independence, self-motivation and a lifelong love of learning.
Respect
Embodies the belief that every child is inherently worthy of dignity, autonomy, and understanding. It involves treating each child with kindness, acknowledging their individuality and valuing their unique strengths and challenges. This principle encourages mutual respect among all members of the learning community, promoting harmonious interactions and positive relationships.
Independence
Fostering a child's ability to do things for themselves, promoting self-reliance and autonomy. This principle recognizes that developing independence not only builds practical skills but also enhances confidence, self-esteem and a sense of responsibility in children.
Choice
Emphasizes the importance of allowing children to make decisions about their learning and activities. It involves offering a variety of materials and experiences that cater to children's interests, preferences and developmental stages. This principle recognizes that when children are able to freely choose activities that capture their curiosity, they become more engaged, focused and eager to explore.
We offer multi-age groups, hands-on learning, a bilingual environment (French and English), project-based learning, interdisciplinary studies, and a variety of activities designed to inspire deeper exploration and learning.
Inspira Explor Learning Center is a meeting place;
a place for sharing and socializing. This is why we believe it is important to foster healthy group dynamics.
Modeling social behaviour such as kindness, empathy, and peaceful conflict resolution are at the base of our interventions. By respecting their environment, the children contribute to keeping it safe, warm, and welcoming for themselves and for their friends. An environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging
is an environment set up
for success!
Mornings are reserved for core skills and afternoons are for hands-on projects and free play with integrated time to reflect,
and time to connect with peers. Learners manage their time, set goals, and track progress, and earn more freedom and responsibility along the way. Our participation fees are eligible for the tax credit for child care expenses (RL-24) and therefore allow for a government refund up to 78%. To learn more about the tax credit and to calculate the true cost of our program for your family, we invite you to visit this link. So please reach out if you are interested because spaces are limited.
Please note that in order to register at Inspira Explor Learning Center, parents must register their child with DEM and notify the Ministry of Education and their school service center that they will be homeschooling. This requirement is detailed here. If you have any questions about homeschooling, you can find more information here and here.
Discovery inspires learning through exploration and creative projects. Children will have a chance to develop their emotional, physical, social, and cognitive skills through a Montessori inspired approach. A multi-age environment allows children of all talents and aptitudes to interact with each other in situations that demand collaboration and cooperation, learn how to observe, question, and explore ideas independently.
Adventure inspires freedom to explore, with curiosity serving as the driving force behind learning. Through a Montessori-inspired approach, children will have opportunities to enhance their emotional, physical, social, and cognitive skills while discovering their unique strengths and interests. Children will learn to set goals, take responsibility for their achievements, and work both independently and collaboratively on various projects.
Mother of Elouise
Our Learning Center is the culmination of a deeply personal journey that began with the challenges of balancing career ambitions and the desire to be actively involved in my daughters' lives. Driven by my experiences as a mother and
an entrepreneur, I chose to homeschool my children, an endeavor that sparked my passion for nurturing education and led me to discover the transformative power of the Montessori approach. With over 15 years of homeschooling experience and Montessori teacher certification, I’ve seen firsthand the benefits of a holistic educational environment. This inspired me to create a Learning Center inspired by Montessori principles, focusing on engagement and intrinsic motivation. Our initial intake will cater to a small group of 5 children, including my own daughter.
This approach ensures personalized attention and
a supportive community.
Are you a school?
No, Inspira Explor Learning Center is an educational center, not a school.
Can you help us create a portfolio to submit to the Ministry for evaluation?
Yes. Everything that happens at the learning center can be part of your portfolio, including samples of work completed by your child, and even photos of your child that we can take.
What is your approach towards discipline?
We are advocates for collaboration and communication. At our center, we model behaviour that we would like to see
in everyone, such as compassion, patience, empathy, perseverance and curiosity. We are present to listen to and discuss
with the children during their moments of frustration. We live and honour our emotions fully, and we propose alternatives
to undesired behaviour.
Are there any free play moments throughout the day?
Moments of free play are integrated into each day, where involvement from the adults comes only if requested by the children, or if judged necessary to maintain harmony. Also, the afternoons are mostly dedicated to free play.
Do you prepare the children for the Ministry exams?
No, but we can refer parents to tutors and organisations who offer such preparation.
Can the teacher at Inspira Explor Learning Center do my child's annual evaluation for the Ministry?
No, but we can put you in contact with qualified people to do the evaluation if you wish.
Please reach out if you have questions, we will be happy to connect with you.
